ELDERLY & SENIOR FOOT CARE
As we age, it becomes increasingly more difficult to take care of our feet - especially as we experience a number of other health factors. Some of these factors include: arthritis, diabetes, immobility, toe nail damage and thicker toe nails. Having a medical condition combined with other systemic illnesses, places even greater importance on elderly nail care. We tend to see delayed healing, loss of blood circulation and many other skin and nail problems.
TREATMENT
Foot Specialists at the Royal City Foot Clinic are able to assess and treat all conditions of the feet. The foot specialist has a lot of experience with the senior population. Once an assessment is completed and a diagnosis has been given, our practitioners have top of the line equipment and instrumentation available to begin treatment for any foot ailment or condition.
WITHOUT TREATMENT
We often see feet that have gone a long time without treatment. This neglect is problematic because it increases conditions and nail length which can lead to further problems such as ingrown toe nails, pain, infection, or even ulceration or immobility. Delay in treatment can lead to many negative effects, including a decreased quality of life. We encourage regular foot treatment (every 6-8 weeks) for our elderly population.
